European Parliament, Strasbourg, France
21-22 September 2004
The project Qual E-learning - "The quality of e-learning : evaluation of training effectiveness and impact measures", supported by the European Commission eLearning programme - organised a conference on the conditions that should be taken into consideration to ensure that learners benefit from quality in e-learning. It was held in Strasbourg, France on 21st and 22nd September 2004.
This event was based on the project's results after an investigation into the best pedagogical practices and approaches that ensure quality in training for learners. The conference brought together many e-learning experts from all over Europe and it is hoped that as a result of the conference, persons in charge of education services, national, regional and local authorities, public and private teachers will be able to adjust their strategic approach to the development of e-learning, bearing in mind that the essential principle is that e-learning should be available for all, throughout life. In this way, decision makers should be able to obtain the best possible use of e-learning.
The major themes of the conference were:
· E-learning the European perspective
· National policies and experiences in e-learning: France, Germany, Italy and Spain
· Qual E-learning project results
